Hospitality magazine’s Restaurant Leaders Summit, to be held on 30 July 2018 at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne, is shaping up to be a not-to-be-missed event, with a host of new speakers added to the line-up.

Smith & Daughters’ Shannon Martinez will join a panel on how and why operators can diversify their offering. Martinez will speak alongside Simon Blacher (Commune Group), George Sykiotis (MAdE Establishment) and Peter Gunn (IDES), who will discuss their experiences with pop-ups, events and expanding their portfolios.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Melbourne’s general manager Jonno Forbes has also been added to the program, speaking on all things staffing – from attracting and recruiting to retaining employees – with Scott Pickett (Matilda 159, Estelle), Liz Rodriguez (Grossi) and Hannah Green (Etta Dining).

Lune Croissanterie’s Kate Reid and R U OK? ambassador and Franklin chef Mal Meiers round out the mental health and wellbeing panel, accompanying food writer and TV presenter Melissa Leong and executive chef Morgan McGlone.

Other speakers include Chris Lucas (The Lucas Group), who will sit down with MC Alex Herbert for a one-on-one, Le Ho Fook’s Victor Liong, Embla’s Christian McCabe and Carlo Grossi from Grossi Florentino.

“Insights from summits like these drive passion, reinforce commitments and inspire young and established operators alike,” says Liong. “Despite being a challenging industry to work and operate in – especially this day and age –  panels and discussions give us perspective, energy and knowledge. As Australians, we’re prone to look outwards for ideas and inspiration; sometimes it’s nice to look inwards.”

The Summit comprises a series of panel discussions, presentations and Q&As, and will cover the industry’s most pressing issues including marketing tips to boost your business, supercharging alcohol sales, what millennials and old-school operators can learn from each other, boosting profitability through pricing and psychological intelligence and naming trends and technology we’ll be seeing in 2019.

Early bird tickets for restaurant trade are on sale for a limited time until 30 June for $249 + GST. Early bird supplier tickets are $499 + GST.
