Sydney chef Mitch Orr is heading back to the Northern Beaches to run Pilu at Freshwater’s Baretto Nights.

Orr recently completed a stint at Maurice Terzini’s Bondi eatery CicciaBella after closing his Potts Point restaurant ACME last year.

It’s a full-circle scenario for Orr, who worked at Pilu more than 10 years ago.

Baretto Nights will see Orr dish up Italian snacks and dishes with his own twists including hash browns and taleggio, grilled prawns with salmoriglio and malloreddus with spanner crab and tomato butter.

Diners can expect a seafood- and vegetable-heavy offering and a drinks list that spans Sardinian beers, orange wines and cocktails.

Orr will be at Pilu from Friday to Sunday evenings until the end of daylight savings.
