Quick Brown Fox and Rosa Pasta Bar owners Ben and Emily Calabro have announced a new Sydney venue — but this time, they’re branching out of the city and into their home suburb of Gladesville.
District Eatery opened its doors earlier this month on Monash Road and operates seven days a week. The launch marks a full-circle moment for the brother-sister duo, who set out to create a venue for locals to spend time in. “There’s something very special about returning back to Gladesville and bringing a concept we wished we had growing up,” says Ben. “To open this venue in our home suburb, for the community we grew up in, means the world to us.”
Former Aalia chef Daniel Grey recently joined the group as executive chef across all three venues. District Eatery has both breakfast and lunch menus, with launch dishes including hotcakes with roasted rhubarb, strawberry, and almond crumble; a bacon and egg croissant; a fried chicken burger; prawn linguine; and miso pumpkin.
The cafe is pouring St Ali coffee and also has a selection of pastries available for those looking for a quick grab-and-go option.
District Eatery is open from 6am until 3pm on weekdays and from 7am until 3pm on weekends.
