David Chang and Danny Bowien are among the long list culinary superstars set to headline this year’s Western Australia Gourmet Escape.

The US legends will be joined by Marco Pierre White, Amanda Cohen (USA), Pierre Koffmann (UK), Carlo Cracco (IT) as well as local talent Alla Wolf-Tasker AM (VIC), Jock Zonfrillo (SA), Josh Niland (NSW) and Seth James (WA).

In 2019 the Western Australia Gourmet Escape will run from 8 to 17 November across two of the state’s premier wine regions — Swan Valley and Margaret River — offering 45 events and 25 unique dining experiences.

On Friday 15 November, Momofuku empire founder Chang will cook for guests at the Westpac Gourmet Beach BBQ.

James Beard Rising Star Chef of the Year 2013 recipient and Mission Chinese Food founder Danny Bowien will also hit the pans on 15 November, collaborating with Chow’s Table chef-owner Malcom Chow for a a new-school Chinese food feast presented by Gage Roads Brewing.

Iron Chef competitor Amanda Cohen of award-winning Manhattan restaurant Dirt Candy will partner with George Cooper (Tiller Dinign) to celebrate all things vege at a degustation dinner as part of the Dining by Twilight series. The duo will plate up a vegetable degustation using produce grown on Cooper’s farm.

White will appear at a number of events, including Marco Pierre White on the Past, Present and Future of Food — a marquee dinner and conversation with the chef on Friday 8 November.

Lake House in Daylesford culinary director Alla Wolf-Tasker AM will team up with Seth James, the young gun behind the Wills Domain cellar door restaurant, while Jock Zonfrillo and Matt Stone will partner for a Safari Club Cookout.
