Melbourne operator Commune Group has confirmed the closure of Alter Dining.
Located in Windsor, the casual fine dining restaurant completed its last service on Saturday 28 July.
“We’ve made the decision to pause on the space to focus on exciting upcoming projects which we’ll unveil later this year,” says Commune Group director Simon Blacher.
“As pioneers of the Windsor hospitality market, we’ve seen firsthand the evolution of Chapel Street over the past six years, and firmly believe in the 2 Duke Street site.”
Blacher has confirmed will hold on to the location and utilise the space for functions and events next year.
Alter Dining officially opened in April 2018, and focused on guest dining experience rather than volume.
Commune Group currently operates Tokyo Tina, Hanoi Hannah, Neptune and Impala.
Blacher spoke at Hospitality magazine’s Restaurant Leaders Summit yesterday, where he stressed the importance of knowing your market and making innovations work for your business.
