After its  launch event in November 2016, beer and beef festival ‘Brew and the Moo’ will return to the Pilbara in 2017 on Saturday, 11 November. In 2016, the regional event attracted 1,200 guests from across the Pilbara to the City of Karratha.

Wrapped Creations, a Karratha-based event management team, are behind the development and organisation of the event. The City of Karratha council has endorsed a funding proposal for Brew and the Moo, which will see the event expand over the next three years. Brew and the Moo has also been successful in gaining funding from the Western Australia Tourism Regional Events Scheme because it attracts attendees from all over Western Australia. The Pilbara beer and beef festival will also be listed as the exclusive Northwest event in the Western Australia Beer Week Festival.

The event, set at Dampier, looks to provide a gateway opportunity to draw in visitors and pique their interest to explore the region further. With tourism becoming an increasingly major focus for the region, Wrapped Creations, has also formed a partnership with the Karratha Visitors Centre to create soon to be announced travel destination packages for the 2017 Brew and the Moo.

Brew and the Moo works closely with local chefs to create beef menus that pair perfectly with a variety of beers. The 2016 event incorporated five local food vendors and the intention for 2017 is to expand on this offering as the event grows. Wrapped Creations is currently in discussions with Pilbara Pastoral Stations in hopes to include locally sourced produce on the caterer menus —providing an innovative taste experience while showcasing and promoting local suppliers. Of importance, is to maximize the opportunity to change audience mindset regarding the traditional profile of the region as a one dimensional ‘mining town’. Through this and similar events, Wrapped Creations is keen to prove that the Pilbara is more than that!
