Melbourne bar Black Pearl has teamed up with liquor manufacturer Curatif to launch a cocktail described as the “margarita’s little cousin”.
Now available in canned form, The Toreador was selected by Black Pearl Bar Manager Matt Linklater and features Tromba tequila, fresh lime, Ilegal mezcal and Joseph Catron apricot brandy.
The cocktail is fruity with a hint of smokiness from the mezcal.
Curatif’s Matt Sanger says the new addition came about as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We really wanted to support our industry during these incredibly difficult times, so when we heard of bars starting to do home delivery cocktails we put the call out to see how we could help,” he says.
The Toreador joins Curatif’s range of canned cocktails which include a negroni, espresso martini, margarita and a Bloody Mary.
Available at the Black Pearl in Fitzroy, online and at retail liquor stores and key independents.
