Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has added a new arm to its program.

The Essence of Asia comprises a list of unranked restaurants across 49 cities and 20 countries and territories.

William Drew, Director of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, says the list has come at a time when restaurants most need support.

“This collection presents travelers and gourmets with an invaluable guide to some of Asia’s most authentic and diverse dining experiences,” he says.

“Reflecting the breadth of the region’s gastronomic scene, the range of establishments spans street vendors, time-honoured institutions, philanthropic businesses and pioneering newcomers.”

The releases comes just before the announcement of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, which will be broadcast on 25 March.
