An athlete has been banned from an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Germany after consuming close to 100 plates of sushi in one sitting.

According to German publication The Local, Jaroslav Bobrowski — an ironman and former bodybuilder — had been a regular diner at Running Sushi in Bavaria, which offers an all-you-can-eat buffet for €15.90 ($25.85). A German-language website Stern reported Bobrowski managed to devour the sushi in roughly 90 minutes and only received notice of the impending ban from the restaurant owner when he went to pay. As noted by Eater, a potential deal-breaker was Bobrowski’s choice to eschew alcohol in favour of tea.

Despite the possibility of rogue diners, all-you-can-eat offers have seen a resurgence in Australia. As Hospitality recently reported, the deals can be used to boost brand awareness and profits but it’s important to set ground rules — like encouraging diners to purchase alcoholic drinks.
