COCA-COLA has today launched the new Coca-Cola No Sugar in Australia after years of research to create the best tasting sugar-free Coke ever. Coca-Cola No Sugar has been designed to taste as similar to the original Coca-Cola Classic as possible – and will become a new permanent member of the Coca-Cola family. Available nationally from June 16 2017, the company will give away more than two million free samples to mark the launch. Coca-Cola has launched a new sugar-free variety, Coca-Cola No Sugar.
“We think it’s the closest we have ever come to the classic taste of Coca-Cola,” Roberto Mercadé, president of Coca-Cola in Australia said.

Coca-Cola No Sugar was created after more than five years of research, recipe mixing and flavour trials and it will become a new permanent addition to the Coca-Cola portfolio.

Developed by a team at the company’s US headquarters, Coca-Cola No Sugar has been designed to taste as similar as possible to the original Coca-Cola as possible –  created by Dr. John Pemberton in Atlanta Georgia more than 131 years ago.

“We wanted the experience of drinking Coca-Cola No Sugar to be as close as possible to ‘The Real Thing’,” Mercadé said.

Mr Mercadé said it is the product of years of research and marks the latest step in the evolution of sugar-free Coca-Cola recipes that began with Diet Coke in 1982.
The Australian and New Zealand launch follows its debut in Mexico last year where the consumer response, according to Coca-Cola, has been ‘overwhelmingly positive’.

The global rollout of Coca-Cola No Sugar will be the biggest launch of a new Coca-Cola since Coke Zero was introduced over a decade ago in 2006.  It will continue to rollout in other markets from later this year.

“This is about The Coca-Cola Company making the leap from simply offering people more choice to actively encouraging people to consider a ‘no sugar’ option,” Mercadé said.

Consumers will be able to get free samples in more places and via more methods than ever before including downloading vouchers on their mobiles, via Shazam during TV ads and at voice-activated outdoor advertising panels.

“We’ve never tried anything this ambitious in terms of giving Australians the chance to try our latest drink for free. We want Coca-Cola No Sugar to be within an arm’s reach of wherever you are, whenever you desire,” Mercadé said.

Coca-Cola No Sugar will be available nationally from 16 June, 2017.
