The sunshine state’s leading foodservice trade show, Fine Food Queensland, will be held from 10 to 12 April, featuring over 200 exhibitors.

As well as a broad range of food and equipment suppliers, the event will host an extensive range of events, competitions and presentations, aiming to upskill professionals within the foodservice sector.

These include:

1. Talking Food Stage

Industry leaders will share tips on how business operators can grow their brand and achieve success in the feature. Discussion topics include Loyalty Programs – What’s the Point?; How Restaurants, Cafes and Bars Can Increase Business Efficiency With Technology; Coffee – Liquid Gold; and Attracting and Retaining the Right Staff.

2. The Australian Culinary Challenge Regional Competition

Queensland’s chefs, trainees and apprentices from local cafes, restaurants, hotels and pubs will compete for cash and other prizes.

Categories include:

  • Regional Most Outstanding Chef 2016
  • Regional Most Outstanding Apprentice/Trainee Chef 2016
  • Regional Most Outstanding Pastry Chef 2016
  • Regional Most Outstanding Pastry Apprentice/Trainee 2016

3. FSAA Foodservice Education Forum

The first of its kind, the Forum will focus on how operators can save energy, specifically electricity, discussing potential savings and how businesses can communicate that they are an environmental “good citizen”.

4. Baking at Fine Food

Hosted by the Baking Association of Australia – Queensland, Baking at Fine Food will offer visitors the opportunity to learn practical tools of the trade through interactive demonstrations and masterclasses. Sessions include Artisan Flat Breads; Decorating The Perfect Cake; How to Produce the Perfect Fruit Scrolls and Handy Hints to the Perfect Wedding Cake.
