Australian parmesan named best in world

A parmesan cheese produced by Australian dairy giant Dairy Farmers has grabbed the award for Best in Class at the 27th Biennial World Champion Cheese Contest in Madison, Wisconsin in the United States.

The award-winning cheese, Mil Lel Superior Parmesan, took top points against all other parmesans entered internationally.

Held every two years, the competition is hailed by its organisers as the world’s largest international cheese contest. This year it had a panel of more than 20 expert judges from a variety of countries around the world. They judged cheese and butter in 79 different classes over three days.

Created in Simpson, Victoria amongst some of the state’s finest dairy country, Mil Lel Superior Parmesan is no stranger to awards both domestic and abroad having won many accolades for more than a decade.
