Major Australian contract manufacturer of frozen meals and meal components, Kailis & France Foods, is undergoing a name change.
After more than 34 years in business the company has announced its frozen foods division was changing to the new name Vesco Foods. The move came into effect on March 31.
The company’s fresh foods division will continue to trade under Australian Convenience Foods.
The move follows the merge of Kailis and France Foods and Australian Convenience Foods in 2006 to form the largest supplier of fresh and frozen convenience foods in Australia.
Ian Halliday, managing director for Kailis & France said the new name, Vesco, is derived from Latin and translated means “to feed”. “Which is, of course, the primary function of our organisation,” he said. “We have continued to develop over the years and the new name echoes the innovative nature of our business model.”
The name change will be accompanied by a re-branding initiative across its frozen business unit, in order to present a cohesive approach to the market, which will include offices, uniforms, website and all marketing collateral.
Vesco has its headquarters in WA but has a national presence including offices on the East Coast. It supplies products to many leading national and international brands, including airlines, retail outlets, supermarket groups and restaurants in Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
