Some of Australia’s most talented chefs, apprentices and front of house staff are gearing up for the Sydney Culinary Challenge to be held as part of Australia’s largest hospitality industry events, Fine Food Australia, in September.

The Australian Culinary Federation NSW Chapter and Salon Committee, along with major sponsors Kraft Philadelphia and Comcater Foodservice Equipment will be presenting the Sydney Culinary Challenge.

The organisers say this year promises to be a “truly great event” with a competition program “to arouse the creative spirit amongst the many talented chefs, apprentices and front-of-house staff”.

The competition will consist of an artistic display arena as well as a hot, live arena for both individual and team events including the Philadelphia Restaurant Challenge. This year in the Philadelphia Restaurant Challenge, three restaurants will open for lunch time service on each of the four days of the challenge. Each restaurant team will compete for a share of $15,000, including a first prize of 10,000!

Meat and Livestock Australia are once again sponsoring the Best Chef & Apprentice competition where competitors will prepare a 3-course meal and the winners taking away $2,000 in prize money.
