Sydney function centre and restaurant operation Doltone House has received another accolade for its environmentally friendly design initiatives.

At the 2010 Australian Business Awards just announced it received the award in the Environmental Sustainability category which recognises organisations that demonstrate leadership and commitment to the enhancement, preservation and protection of the environment.

Doltone House director, Anna Cesarano said the award was great recognition for the venue which is part of the first 6 star green star building in NSW.

“This award reinforces our commitment to environmental sustainability as a private organization leading the way aiming to be the greenest venue in Sydney,” Cesarano said.

“A comprehensive team of green experts were engaged to ensure the initial modelling took place for the design as required for the credits targeted for a 6 star rating. The entire process was governed to ensure 6 star materials and finishes would comply with the accreditation process.”

The Environmental Sustainable Practices of Doltone House Darling Island Wharf include many features aimed at increasing its energy efficiency and decreasing its environmental impact including structural concrete made from recycled products, higher quality air, lighting connected to occupancy sensors, waste management practices that reduce the degree of landfill waste and wasted water usage, and an air-conditioning system that uses a refrigerant that has zero ozone depletion potential.
