Fresh from his success on MasterChef George Calombaris has unveiled his latest move—teaming up with Coles in what the supermarket giant calls an “exclusive partnership” that is part of its Christmas marketing activity.

The chef and director of a growing empire of Melbourne restaurants is joining Coles to develop a range of products and will also host a series of public cooking demonstrations using Coles ingredients.

In a media release Calombaris praised Coles’ ‘commitment to providing its customers with quality at affordable prices’.

“I think it’s fantastic that Coles has taken restaurant quality food and made it more accessible to the public,” he said.

“When trying the products, I was blown away by the quality Coles was providing to the customer. The turkey was really traditional and the stuffing exceptional, while the flavours and texture of the dips, especially the cranberry dip, were very impressive.“I think it’s great to see a supermarket creating cost effective solutions which are actually creative—hats off to Coles.”

Coles marketing director, Joe Blundell, said Calombaris’ involvement was part of its strategy to deliver quality products to consumers.

“George’s feedback gives us assurance that all our work toward improving quality and range is on the right track. We’re really looking forward to working with him to ensure we’re giving our customers the best possible product offering.”
