George Calombaris’s The Press Club Restaurant and Bar is about to undergo a major renovation, the first since it opened at the end of 2006.
And along with the renovation will be a change in direction for the operation with the current Press Club Bar being completely revamped and re-named The Little Press & Cellar.
The Little Press & Cellar will be larger and feature an open meze kitchen and new menu from chefs George Calombaris and Joe Grbac.
Also part of the new look is a sub-basement cellar that will house the best wines from The Press Club’s extensive collection which will be used as a private dining area for groups of up to 16 guests.
The restaurant will undergo a complete refurbishment of its ‘open’ kitchen which will include the addition of a “highly exclusive” Chef's Table for five guests.
The existing Private Dining Room will be extended to accommodate up to 30 guests, or two smaller tables of 10 and 14 guests.
Calombaris stressed that while there were big changes afoot the essential ingredients that have made The Press Club so popular will remain.
“Whilst there will be evident changes to the menu and entire facility, the philosophy and style of The Press Club Restaurant and The Little Press & Cellar will remain the same—attention to detail, humility and love, innovative and delicious food and an unforgettable dining experience,” said Calombaris.
