“Contemporary retro Greek 1960s with a twist” is how chef and restaurateur George Calombaris describes his latest venture, the relaunch of his Press Club Bar.

The bar has undergone a major refurbishment and is set to relaunch in ten days time as The Little Press Club and Cellar.

Known in Greece as a mezethopolio, a place to indulge in small sharing plates, The Little Press Club will be providing a cut down version of its more mature restaurant sibling, Calombaris’ The Press Club.

Calombaris said it will offer an array of small tastes and meze, inspired by The Press Club menu, in a “warm and welcoming” atmosphere”.

“I wanted to create an inviting eatery that anyone can drop in, at any time, to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, late supper or even a pre-dinner drink and meze before heading out,” said Calombaris.

Little Press’s small tastes will focus on fresh seasonal produce prepared in The Press Club’s modern Greek style, teamed with a wine list offering a range of wines by the glass supported by the latest Enomatic system and small decanters.

An extra feature of the Little Press and Cellar will also be a private dining room in the basement surrounded by The Press Club’s premium range of wines.

Little Press will open for breakfast from 7am Monday to Friday with lunch and dinner served between 12noon until 11pm and supper till late. Take away coffee and food will also be available until 5pm.
