The Gate Bar and Bistro was named Perth Pub of the Year for the second year in a row at this year’s Australian Hotels Association Western Australian awards for excellence.

Also grabbing top accolades at the gala award event was Margaret River’s Settlers Tavern, which won the award for Regional Hotel of the Year, and the Sheraton Perth Hotel, which won the Deluxe Accommodation awards.

A more than 1100 strong crowd gathered at the Grand Ballroom of the Burswood Entertainment Complex for the awards to hear the announcements that included industry icon Murray McHenry receiving the Hospitality Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.

AHA (WA) CEO Bradley Woods said the awards reflected the high standards across the industry.

“The hospitality sector is continually upgrading and improving services and standards, which is one of the reasons our industry is among the best in the world,” he said.
