Two hat Hunter Valley restaurant Rock closed its doors over the weekend after almost five years.

With the restaurant’s answering machine now with the message that the venue is closed for “renovation and restructuring” owner and head chef Andrew Clarke told the local Newcastle media that he was disappointed to be closing Rock and its daytime counterpart Firestick Café which is located at the Poole Rock Wines winery.

“At this stage we’re doing an internal review to decide which direction we will continue on with,” Clarke told the Newcastle Herald.

“I can’t say too much more other than that we’re looking at the way restaurants work together and how we want to move forward from here.”
